Ask anyone what’s the most romantic attire they could think of, and they’ll come up with the same answer: lingerie. Yup, those skimpy, silky and barely there creations will win the fight hands down. It’s a safe bet then that lingerie sales will go up this Valentines Day.

The view that ‘lingerie is the most romantic attire’ may have been unshakeable fact before, but it’s no longer solid truth to take to the bank. You don’t have to be in Victoria’s Secret to fire up the romance.

Why not try something new this Valentine’s Day and give your girl a pair of pajamas? You’d be surprised how sexy these can be.

No, it’s not really about the fashion. Pajamas can actually be sexy when they are in satin or silk with just the right cut. Today, you can actually find racy pajama lines. But, really, those comfy and decent cotton pajamas can turn up the heat.

Read on:

Think breakfast in bed. Instead of going out Valentines Day, why don’t the two of cancel all your appointments and reservations? Decide that February 14 is the one sacred day that the two of you should devote to one another. No distractions, no interruptions, just a normal day with a special person. No rushing to eat breakfast because the bus is already on its way. No scurrying about to do the laundry.

In the morning, arrange an extra special breakfast tray and eat in bed together. Serve simple breakfast fare, but make it special by throwing in a long-stemmed rose and some chocolates.

Use only one plate and partake in intimate silence. You could even turn on the television and watch the early morning news together. Try to relax on this one special day. Decide to get up when you two feel like doing so. There aren’t any other priorities for the day except to spend the time together.

The great thing about not jumping on the Valentine’s Day bandwagon is that you tend to keep things in context and appreciate the little things. When you’ve been together for quite some time, you’ve already had your share of romance. It’s about spending the rest of your life together. There may have been times in the past where you had petty arguments or even a couple of big fights, but ultimately, you decide to stay together and make it work. This is the most important.

So what does it mean when you spend Valentine’s Day together in pajamas? It means that you could set aside the day’s demands for one day and simply spend some good, old quality time together. The two of you have built a strong, comfortable relationship together, so there’s really no need for all those flamboyant clothes or corny pick up lines.

It is incredibly popular in today’s culture to save energy and reduce a person’s carbon footprint. Residents of the United Kingdom are trying to out “green” each other in an effort to show that they are saving more power than their friends and colleagues. Energy saving ideas are traded the way recipes, money saving ideas and home improvement tips were once traded.

So much focus is placed upon living the greenest life possible that most are surprised to learn that the waste levels for water are at an all time high. It appears that even the most energy efficient and carbon conscious United Kingdom citizens have yet to understand that saving water is just as important as saving power.

It might surprise readers to learn that the UK’s fresh water resources are expected to run dry within a few decades. This seems impossible given the wet climate local residents are used to enduring, but there are some experts who insist that fresh water resources are depleting at a much faster rate than previously expected. The truth is that the fresh water resources in the United Kingdom are more sparse than the fresh water resources in the Sudan and Syria”two areas of the world that are famous for their dry climates and water shortages.

What is even more amazing is that fresh water is so scarce when it water is relatively easy to conserve. Some of the easiest ways to conserve fresh water are to simply turn off the water faucet when it is not in use. Instead of letting the water run during an entire dental hygiene routine, only turn it on when the toothbrush needs to be rinsed, or when the water cup needs to be filled. When doing dishes, use the water saver function on the dishwasher.

Take shorter showers! The amount of water that even a five minute shower uses will boggle the mind. Only run full loads when you wash your clothes or use the dishwasher. Rinse vegetables in a pan of water instead of under a running faucet. Keep a pitcher of water in the refrigerator instead of letting the water run to get cold before you fill up your glass. Only water the yard when it needs it. Don’t let sprinklers run all afternoon.

The amount of water an adult uses in one day can easily be cut down. Water is the world’s most important resource and it needs to be protected. Nobody should take having fresh water for granted. Saving water is just as important as saving energy and reducing your carbon footprint. Cutting back water consumption is easy and is something people should work at just as diligently as they work at cutting down their energy use.

There are many reasons to buy alpaca products instead of those made out of wool, but while some of these are simply a personal preference, some may actually affect how you wear the garment or when you wear it. Here are the various differences between alpaca and wool.

First of all, alpaca is actually a stronger fiber than wool. Of course, this comparison only works between alpaca and wool that are of the same fineness. A finer piece of wool may be stronger than a less fine alpaca. Alpaca is also much softer and less irritating on the skin, something many people prefer. In fact, this is one of the major points for buying alpaca instead of wool.

Another huge reason for buying clothing and accessories made from alpaca instead of wool is that alpaca is naturally hypoallergenic. This means that it does not include any of the lanolin or dander that causes people to have allergic reactions. For people who can’t wear things made of wool, alpaca makes a great alternative. On the downside, because it does not contain any lanolin, alpaca is not naturally water resistant. This means your alpaca clothing will let through more water than wool would. It will stay cleaner, though, since lanolin tends to hold dust.

Alpaca fibers are mostly or completely hollow. What this means is that they are lighter than wool fibers, which are not hollow, resulting in a warmer garment that doesn’t weigh as much. Wool tends to be very heavy, especially wool coats. When it comes to keeping the wearer warm, however, alpaca gets the job done without relying on weight. In fact, alpaca can actually keep a person around 20 degrees warmer than wool can.

There are a couple of other features that make alpaca a superior fiber than wool. It generally does not mat or pill, although it may pill in garments made from baby alpaca. Likewise, it doesn’t shrink quite as much as wool does when washed. Alpaca also comes in many different natural colors (black, browns, white, rose, silver, and grey), so some alpaca is actually sold without being dyed.

As you can see, there are many different reasons for purchasing clothing made from alpaca instead of wool. While the two are very similar in the process of refining hair into cloth, the final products vary greatly. Alpaca is great for anyone looking for light weight and very warm products that do not cause allergies or skin irritation.
