Where do they go when people are depressed with this crippling disease? And if this illness is left untreated it can get very bad over time and in the process claim lives. Medication can help people get out of their depression and this has been proven by science and medical research.

The Mind

People are asking when they try and deal with this illness where does all this begin, this depression in bipolar? The brain which is responsible for looking after our basic motor skills, such as walking and handling things it also is in charge of the way we feel (emotions).

Feeling Depressed

In one sentence, it is the outside world that acts as a catalyst for the brain to think the way it acts and so are the emotions. People who are not bipolar get depressed after hearing bad news, looking at an event or tasting something awful. But, even when there is nothing to be depressed about, people with bipolar disorder symptoms often get depressed. Their mood can change from increased energy (extreme happiness) down to low energy level (depression).

Bipolar Depression

The person with bipolar symptoms, in a depressive mood, will experience long durations of sadness, feelings of being pessimistic, hopelessness, empty moods and feelings of guilt. They also experience worthlessness, loss of interest in activities that are considered to be pleasurable such as sex, sleeping too much or none at all, feelings of irritability and thoughts of death or suicide. When in this depressed state, they can think about committing suicide and can eventually take their own lives.

Bipolar Disorder: Treatments and Medications

There are two main focuses of treatment; psychotherapy (non medicinal) and medication (prescribed drugs) for this mental illness. It is a serious disease that should be treated with careful management and as soon as the bipolar signs and symptoms appear.

Psychotherapy

To help them control their emotions better, this type of therapy is useful especially for those going through mood changes. Medication is usually prescribed for bipolar symptom to normalize with extreme cases where psychotherapy is not enough.

Depression and Medication

Special chemicals called neurotransmitters such as “serotonin” and “norepinephrine,” are used by the different parts of the brain to exchange information. It is widely believed that the increase level of these chemicals are linked to the depressive mood in people although it has not been proven that low levels of serotonin and norepinephrine cause depression in bipolar. Antidepressants drugs are prescribed to lift up these brain chemicals.

Most Common Antidepressants

The two most common groups of drugs in the market today are:

Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRI) when this chemical serotonin is increased the mood improves.

(MAOI) Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors- MAOI’s are very effective in fighting depression.

Precaution

Your life is both important and precious. So all bipolar medication must be used strictly as prescribed by your physicians or your doctor. The risk of overdose for some of these drugs can be lethal and if it says avoid certain food or alcohol, please adhere to the strict warning on the label.

This season’s patio furniture covers are dazzling. There is no doubt that next year’s designs will be equally as colourful. Don’t be surprised. Fashion trends tend to respond to the current economic atmosphere. In times of economic hardship, colours tend to be brighter and patterns tend to be more cheerful. Whether it is in clothes or patio furniture covers or other household items, the trend this year is to be bright and colourful.

Although, I will be happy to see the end of the recession I don’t mind its impact on fashion. I love vibrant and cheerful designs so I love this season’s offerings. I have seen bright red, blue and yellow daisy designs that bring to mind the flowing peasant skirts and dresses of the 1960s. I have seen wide pink and purple stripes that remind me of the fashions of the 1970s. This year the colour choices and pattern choices are spirit lifting. Designers know what people are looking for and this year it is fun, fun, fun.

When you are looking for patio furniture covers this year I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the new color and pattern choices that are appearing. However, even with the move away from very subdued and monotone colors, the tried and true underlying design of outdoor furniture covers will not change very much. The general construction, material quality and fastening systems do not generally change with the trends, as these are elements which have been perfected over the years and change much less frequently.

The first thing I look for when shopping for patio furniture covers is the type of fabric used. Historically, these covers tended to be a thin layer of brittle plastic bonded to a weak felt-like lining. Those days are gone. Today’s covers are generally made from newer man-made fabrics. These fabrics are water resistant and breathable. These factors allow the patio furniture to be protected from the rain and dew while allowing accumulated moisture to escape and thus preventing any mold or mildew build up.

The next thing I closely examine is the durability of the cover. This is very important to me. I look at the cover seams. I want to make sure that all of the seams are double or even triple stitched. I am very cautious if I see any lose threads. Lose threads are a good indicator of poor quality. I also pay close attention to the manner of fastening the covers. The better quality outdoor furniture covers fasten with good quality zippers. Completely zip and unzip all of the zippers. Ensure all of the zippers are in proper working order.

When buying outdoor furniture covers you should keep a few things in mind. Colour and pattern are important but these aspects are only a part of what should be seriously considered. The functionality of the covers is very important too. Are they easily removed? Are they easily washed? Is the fabric protective and durable? A proper consideration of all of these factors will allow you to purchase the best patio furniture covers for your family.

When you first bring home your baby, items like comforters, quilts and pillows aren’t necessary.

These sets often come with a bumper too and you might have heard or read conflicting information on them. In the end it comes down to the choice that you make.

If you do decide that a bumper will protect your child, go with a thinner design. Thick, fluffy bumpers are much more of a suffocation hazard than these thinner ones.

The essential items for the first year of your baby’s life are sheets, a mattress, and maybe a crib skirt for a better look. You want to avoid fluffy or heavy items in the crib that could suffocate your baby.

If you want to make sure your baby is comfortably warm, consider getting an organic blanket for swaddling or an organic cotton sleep sac that also wraps up snugly around your baby and doesn’t present a suffocation hazard.

What will you do with that comforter or quilt that came with the bedding set? As many parents have found, they make a wonderful decorative piece in your nursery.

You can hang the quilt over a rack designed for it, or simply mount it on the wall.

Purchasing a complete baby bedding set in the beginning may also save you money in the long run, as the set can be used for your child throughout the toddler years as well.

Or you can just keep it simple in the beginning and transform your child’s room throughout the years just by purchasing a new bedding set.
