Do You Have Clean Drinking Water? No.
One of the most important factors in the health of any person is their diet, and diet includes water. Despite the fact that you ought to be drinking clean drinking water the majority of Americans aren’t.
Clean drinking water is essential for good health. Right now you may be reading about the Cholera epidemic in Zimbabwe. Cholera and many other diseases can be spread by contaminated drinking water, and it’s essential that we drink the purest water to protect our health.
Just because there is no Cholera in the US doesn’t mean we have clean water. There is a multitude of contaminants in our drinking water, and although they won’t kill us as fast as Cholera, they can still, over time, add up to impact seriously on our health.
Here’s an example. Everyone knows that if we ingest lead into our bodies it isn’t good for us at all. None other than the US EPA has stated that lead in our drinking water is the number one health problem for our children, and that this can lead to learning and developmental problems and behavioral problems, and more.
Can you believe that something as dangerous as lead is in our water? We’re drinking lead? Aren’t our water supplies meant to be clean?
Lead contaminating our water is an ongoing problem. Lead comes from many sources, but the most common sources are from our pipes. It is estimated that around 98% of households have lead in their pipes. That comes from lead lined pipes or soldered joints in our pipes which contain lead. Most lead in our drinking water actually enters our water somewhere in the house.
And according to the EPA there is no safe level of lead in our water, especially to children.
And lead is just the start of the contaminants that we find in our drinking water that means that clean drinking water is just a dream.
This is pretty scary, and you’d be forgiven for wondering what you can do to make sure you’re drinking clean water. How do you make sure your drinking water is clean. Should you be drinking bottled water?
And none other than the FDA has said “Companies that market bottled water as being safer than tap water are defrauding the American public.” The reason is that the government doesn’t set any standards for bottled water, so there is no requirement that bottled water be any better than tap water. Some bottled water is tap water put into a bottle, at a staggering price. Bottled water is a con.
And it takes oil to make bottled water, and for other reasons bottled water is an environmental disaster. All those bottles go into landfill.
So if bottled water isn’t the answer to clean drinking water what do you do if the thought of drinking lead and countless other contaminants repulses you? You find a good water filter to use. A water filter is much cheaper and more environmentally friendly than bottled water and produces water to extremely high standards of cleanliness. A high quality water filter will filter the lead out, along with the other contaminants, including chlorine, that you find in your tap water.
How do you know that? Because it’s perfectly possible to test this and independent tests can show the efficacy of different water filters and ensure that if they claim certain results these can actually be achieved. The very best drinking water filters should filter out over 97% or 98% of just about everything nasty, including some contaminants that you’ve probably never even heard of.
For example did you know that there can be bromochloroacentontrile in your tap water? What is it? How dangerous is it? Well it really doesn’t matter because if you use the best drinking water filter available you know that 97% of it is removed.
So if this article is beginning to open your eyes to the risks of drinking unfiltered tap water and bottled water you aren’t alone. You have a right to be drinking clean water but you aren’t. The way to make sure you are is to get the best drinking water filters it’s possible to get and use it to make sure you’re drinking clean drinking water.
And surprisingly the best water filter isn’t actually the most expensive water filter, they are very cost competitive. Learn more about drinking water filters at my website.
